The Position
This position directly manages the construction, installation of OSP network (poles, aerial, buried, and underground fiber facilities within a specified market area. The Construction Supervisor has direct accountability for overseeing line-crews, splicers, and contract crews all simultaneously while ensuring all OSP construction projects get completed in a safe and timely fashion within CAPEX budget parameters across multiple projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage OSP crews activity to ensure dates and objectives are met
- Ensure OSP crews are following proper safety guidelines
- Ensure OSP crews are meeting NESC code for aerial construction
- Partner with procurement on material forecast and scheduling
- Coordinate with contractors on all permit needs
- Create relationships with local partners
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in a technical field or equivalent job experience
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years technical experience working in OSP Engineering, Construction or Operations. Previous supervisory experience or proven demonstrated ability to lead technicians and contractors within a telecom maintenance & construction environment.
- Key Competencies: Strong understanding of OSHA rules.
- National Electric Safety Code (NESC) requirements.
- Federal, and local (municipality) regulations.
- Must have the ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven project management skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects in various geographical areas.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Must exhibit honesty, integrity and courtesy in all interactions. Must possess strong work ethic in supporting customer needs, responding promptly and consistently.
