Wieland is hiring a Safety Health and Environmental Coordinator. The Safety Health and Environmental Coordinator will assist with the implementation of programs, development of policies, and conduct assessments to ensure Wieland is meeting compliance with all local, federal and company health and safety rules. This role is located in Pine Hall, NC and will be fully on-site. While this role is local, occasional travel to other locations may be required (<10% travel).

Responsibilities

Safety Health and Environmental Coordinator Responsibilities:

    Develops, publishes and raises general level of awareness of safety and environmental programs consistent with regulations, ISO 45001 & 14001 standards and company policy.
  • Conducts hazard and job safety analysis to ensure proper use of machinery and equipment, personal protective equipment, and procedures.
  • Develops, oversees, and performs training of employees/contract associates, managers/supervisors and other employees in the areas of general safety and environmental awareness, specific program requirements and specific job requirements.
  • Responsible for compliance of documentation and review of work procedures and machine safety to ensure compliance with OSHA.
  • Work with and maintain different types of onsite wastewater treatment systems, including chemicals, sampling, and minor mechanical tasks.
  • Facilitates EHS incident reporting software, assessing root causes, and working cross - functionally to resolve.
  • Develops, reviews and revises company standards, policies and practices as necessary to ensure they are current and in concert with company and / or regulatory requirements such as OSHA and ISO Standards.
  • Maintains required records, prepares reports and files as necessary to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigates observations, close calls, and incidents to ascertain causes to develop preventive safety measures and programs with a heavy focus on a behavioral based safety approach.
  • Conduct job hazard analysis (JHA) of all positions and update the JHA's as needed.
  • Develop and promote safety culture initiatives and activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel for additional training to enhance skills and continue education.

Safety Health and Environmental Coordinator Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and 45001 - preferred
  • Knowledge EHS Management Systems - preferred
  • 0-3 years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience- required
  • Experience in EHS Management of a Manufacturing Site - preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations - required
