Position Overview

Primary Purpose of the Position
The Department of Chemistry is seeking candidates for temporary adjunct positions starting in the summer 2024 terms. Candidates should possess a master's degree or higher in Chemistry or closely related field. Candidates should be able to successfully teach undergraduate level Organic Chemistry I & II lecture and lab or General Chemistry I & II lecture and courses in an in-person mode.

To instruct and prepare undergraduate students in Organic Chemistry

Requirements and Preferences

Position required to work during periods of adverse weather or other emergencies No
Minimum Experience/Education
  • Master's Degree or higher in Chemistry or a related field, with at least 18 graduate hours of coursework from an accredited institution.
  • One year or more of successful teaching experience in Organic Chemistry.





Normal Work Schedule
Laboratory: Tuesday through Thursday from: 11:00 am to 1:45 pm
Lecture: Monday through Friday from: 8:00 am to 10:00 AM
Department Required Skills
  • Must be able to use and work from a course syllabus, maintain grades and record keeping using Canvas Learning Management System is required.
  • Should be proficient in technologies and teaching with various tools such as projectors, laser pointers, lab equipment and presentation software.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
  • Three years or more of successful teaching experience.
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management, correspondence with students, faculty, staff and administration.
  • A dedication to providing a positive high-quality learning environment is essential.
  • Previous experience using Banner and Canvas systems.
