Position Summary | The term Graduate Assistant is the umbrella term that encompasses all types of GA appointments. Graduate Assistants are employed by the University to teach, conduct research, or assist with administrative duties in departments and non-academic units. Every attempt is made to assign Graduate Assistants to positions that are directly related to the student's field of study or that provide the opportunity to develop transferable, professional skills. Graduate Assistantships are assigned in the department or unit and confirmed by the Graduate School. |

Our vision is to develop scholars of diverse thought, who seek growth in leadership, intercultural knowledge, and civic engagement to enhance self-awareness and sense of purpose which ensures personal, academic, professional success among their peers and beyond. This position will report directly to the Associate Director of The Guarantee Scholars Program. There is one undergraduate assistant & 4-5 peer mentors that make up the Guarantee Program Staff. Job Duties and/or Responsibilities: Working under the direct leadership and supervision of the Associate Director, the GA will be a core team member and active contributor responsible for the overall success of the Guarantee Scholars Program, with a primary focus on first-year scholar support. The GA will be an integral part of the Guarantee Scholars Program team in accomplishing the office and program missions and goals. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Stipend: 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters following the UNCG Graduate Assistantship Schedule for a $15,000 stipend. Minimum Qualifications | To be eligible for appointments as a graduate assistant, you must: * Maintain academic good standing at all times (3.0). * Be enrolled full-time, which is generally a minimum of 9 credits. * Make satisfactory progress toward your degree as defined by your academic program and the Graduate School. * Meet the requirements to be eligible for employment in the U.S. |
