Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Inspector at Parker-Hannifin IPF Division in Greensboro, NC to join our growing team.

The Mechanical Inspector is responsible for the Incoming Inspection process to meet internal customer needs in a timely manner. In addition, the Incoming Inspector will maintain a process that adheres to the Quality Management System.

* Independently perform and document inspections on parts using various metrology devices, including but not limited to surface plate layouts, vision system, small hand gages and visual inspections, all with great attention to detail, efficiency and accuracy.

* With training, create custom programming to inspect parts on an automated vision system

* Effectively support and communicate with internal customers (engineering, purchasing, sales, manufacturing)

* Interpret various engineering specifications including filter media specs, material specs, etc. to determine compliance.

* Effectively utilize the ERP system to transact inspections, generate non-conformances, and maintain lot control.

* Create and fill out Receiving Inspection Records (RIR's) based on customer requirements and input from Engineering.

* Pull random samples from lots (know how to ensure random from a statistical perspective) and perform all associated paperwork for processing.

* Determine the acceptability of paper work associated with the parts (including vendor inspection reports, material certifications, part certifications, etc.)

* Operate various test apparatus to determine part acceptance.

* Conduct First Articles per customer requirements

* Primary responsibility for maintaining gage calibration program. Perform scheduled calibrations, both internally and in coordination with outside calibration vendors, and maintain system and equipment to pass scheduled audits.

* Other assignments as requested by the lab supervisor or quality management

Coursework in a technical field including metrology (certificate of program completion or associates degree preferred). Certification (in lieu of education): ASQ certified Quality Inspector or ASQ certified Quality Technician.

Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment conducting quality inspections of varying complexity.
