Primary Purpose of Position | This Summer Sessions Learning Design Consultantposition ensures the continuity of offerings year-round, especially for accelerated, flexible credit and non-credit offerings. It works closely with faculty to primarily support N.C. A&T College academic departments, Information Technology Services units, Bluford Library, Center for Teaching Excellence, and Extended Campus leadership in an advisory and assistance role to uphold the quality of learning environments, instructional content, and technologies for Extended Campus A&T online, continuing education, and summer sessions. The position applies learning technology and instructional design skills to develop and support internal course readiness processes and perform technology evaluations and implementations. |

A&T community and external collaborators to actuate a bold, transformative education strategy to create online, professional, and lifelong learning opportunities, helping ensure A&T's preeminence within a changing higher education landscape. |
Minimum Requirements | Master's degree with four years of full-time professional instructional design or faculty development work experience; Experience managing and tracking projects and budgets; Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects; High degree of proficiency with LMS, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office 365 applications; Highly organized and detail-oriented; Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Outstanding interpersonal skills, working well with a wide range of staff at all levels; Ability to interact respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds, perspectives and cultures. INSTRUCTIONAL Support the learning design and evaluation of online, campus, and professional education offerings with up-to-date knowledge of Quality Matters, and Universal Design for Learning. Apply design thinking, pedagogy, and andragogy principles to improve learner satisfaction and success in site-based, hybrid, and online environments. Advise others on the proper application of site-based technologies for Extended Campus non-credit and co-curricular summer offerings. Consult with various academic and service units to design meaningful content, activities, and interactions in the LMS, Learner Support Commons, and Virtual Faculty Commons. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT Coordinate the deployment of Extended Campus skills training, professional development, course offerings, and learning technologies. Provide project management for master course development, redesign, evaluation, and deployment processes for online programs. Coordinate deployment of instructional resources, technology services, and faculty preparation for Summer Sessions programming. ADMINISTRATIVE Assist staff with confirming policy adherence. Construct surveys, and polls and communicate the results. Prepare data-informed project status, learning activity analytics, manage Quality Matters reports, and learner/faculty satisfaction reports on a recurring basis. Create infographics and training support resources. |
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education | At least three years of college teaching experience. Any of the Quality Matters or ACUE certifications. Knowledge of Banner and a PMP are a plus. |
